Cat temple. I'm sure there is one of these somewhere in Japan. I just haven't found it yet. I've found some temples with some cats, but not one where they are venerated properly. I want lots of bronze / stone statues of various sizes and poses. I want cats grining inanely at human supplicants who are required to supply fish. I want priests carrying around little bowls of tuna (or whatever) and trailing little toy mice around behind them on string. I want large, leather clad tomes full of historically accurate real cat anecdotes - how a cat saved the emperor's life, how cats invented the Japanese sword manufacturing techniques, and how the world is really just a small toy of a giant cat that has grown bored of it for the moment, and stuff like that. Maybe it is hidden away on one of the remote islands. A remote island cat temple. Tell me where it is....
